Yes — all ProStrux products are designed for industrial construction sites and meet relevant safety standards for exposed all-thread protection. Using our products helps employers meet their obligations under OSHA’s General Duty Clause, which requires a workplace free from recognized hazards that are likely to cause death or serious physical harm.

There is often confusion in the industry regarding impalement protection requirements. OSHA’s guidance on impalement hazards primarily stems from rebar protection standards under Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulation 29 CFR 1926.701(b). These requirements are specifically focused on protecting workers from impalement hazards associated with below-grade or vertical rebar applications.
These standards do not directly address above-grade or overhead MEP installations, which is the environment our product is designed for.
In cases where specific standards are not defined, OSHA enforces workplace safety through the General Duty Clause (Section 5(a)(1)) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. This requires employers to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards.
Our product is designed specifically for at-grade and above-grade, overhead conditions, which fall outside the scope of traditional rebar impalement requirements. We have engaged with OSHA to help clarify this distinction, and they have indicated that our product design is appropriate for these applications.
It is also important to recognize that there have been documented injuries and fatalities related to overhead protrusions in the industry. These incidents are part of ongoing evaluations and discussions with OSHA as standards continue to evolve.
Our product was developed with a focus on:
Injury prevention
Speed and ease of installation
Improved visibility and worker awareness
Rounded profile design to help deflect impact from movement
These features are based on real-world field experience and input from industry professionals, addressing practical risks present in overhead work environments.description
